Two reasons people call us in English

You’re visiting and something has gone wrong
A back that seized up on the flight. An Achilles that gave out after three days of walking the city. You don’t have a Danish doctor, you don’t have weeks, and you’d rather not spend your trip in pain. You can book directly with us, no referral needed.
You live here and can’t find care in English
You’ve been passed between clinics, handed a printout of exercises, and told to come back in a month. You want someone who examines you properly and explains what they found, in a language you actually think in.

Hands, not a handout of exercises

A lot of physiotherapy today happens at arm’s length. You’re assessed, given a set of movements to do at home, and sent on your way. That has its place, but it isn’t treatment.

Chiara is fully manually oriented. She works with her hands on the tissue that has actually stiffened, restricted or compensated, and she treats the body as one connected system rather than a collection of separate parts.

The place that hurts is rarely the place that started it. That is why the first thing she does is take a proper history and examine you, before she treats anything. A knee problem that came from the hip is treated at the hip.

Fascial manipulation, in plain terms

Fascia is the connective tissue that wraps every muscle, surrounds your organs and links the whole structure back to your spine. It’s what lets one part of you move without dragging the rest along.

When you sit still for long stretches, travel, or train hard without recovering, that tissue stiffens and loses glide. Between its layers run your blood and lymph, so stiff fascia doesn’t just restrict movement, it slows down how well an area is supplied and drained.

Fascial manipulation combines deep manual work, stretch and mobilisation to restore that glide. Chiara trained in this specifically, in Italy, where the method was developed.

What people come in with

Neck pain and headaches, one of her main areas
Lower back pain, including pain that travels down the leg
Shoulder problems, from stiffness to impingement
Knee and ankle injuries
Sports injuries, she has extensive experience with athletes
Achilles and foot pain, including after long days on your feet
Stiffness that won’t shift despite stretching
Pain no one has explained to you yet

This isn’t a closed list. Chiara sees all types of problems in the body, so if yours isn’t here, book anyway or call and ask.

What actually happens at your first appointment

1
You tell her the whole story
When it started, what makes it worse, what you’ve already tried, what you need to get back to. This part matters more than most people expect.

2
She examines you
A thorough physical examination to find where the restriction actually sits, which is often not where the symptom is.

3
She explains what she found
In English, in terms that make sense, so you understand your own body before anything is done to it.

4
She treats you
Hands-on work in the same session: manual therapy, stretch and mobilisation, aimed at the cause rather than the symptom.
